I received two kind emails in response to a recent post regarding the importance of herbs against inflammation with recipes this past week and I want to share them both with you here.

I just wanted to drop you a note about how you have inspired me to use spices and natural ingredients to help heal myself and Tim. I am enjoying the things I have been learning about the medicinal properties in the spices, herbs and plants. I made a new rose tea blend today.

3/4 C long leaf green tea
1/2 C white tea (what I had was chopped but looking for uncut)
3/4 TBsp orange zest
3 small cinnamon sticks broken
2.5 Tbsp coriander seeds
1 Tbsp ground cardamom (want to find whole seeds was out)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 to 3/4 Tbsp anise seed
1/2 Tbsp rosemary
1/2 TBsp whole cloves
1 1/2 to 2C fresh rose petals (from my garden-organic)
Thanks the inspiration and information.

image1Thought of you this morning, I make my own tea blend. After reading about the spices you shared online, I mixed green tea, white tea, cinnamon, clove, orange peel, numeric, nutmeg and cumin. Then I added fresh made ginger paste (homemade).

To prepare the tea I steeped tea in diluted ginger water and added a splash of lemon juice right before drinking it. I really liked it and thought you might be interested.

It warms my heart to know that my journey into wellness is touching others and offering an opportunity for healing with food. Thank you for inspiring me – the teacher becomes the student. Much love
